QUARRY BANK MILL AND KNUTSFORD
Saturday October 2nd 2027
Today we will be going north to visit a National Trust mill property on the outskirts of Manchester, Quarry Bank Mill. The 18th century cotton mill has hand-spinning and weaving demonstrations throughout the day and is also home to Europe’s largest working waterwheel. There are lovely gardens set in a picturesque valley to explore, created by the Greg family who built their home next to the Mill. There is a café serving snacks, drinks and hot meals till 2.30.
En route, we will be stopping at the ever popular small town of Knutsford, known for its quaint streets, its independent shops bars and cafes.
We will leave Albrighton High Street at 8.45am and Trinity Methodist Church, at 9.00am, returning by about 6.15 in the evening.
The cost of this trip is £30 for National Trust members and £42.00 for non NT. Members who require and admission ticket.
